✨ Philosophy Workshop: The Yogic Stoic ✨
A Workshop on Purpose, Practice & Presence
Many years ago, I read a passage from Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations (2.12) that left a lasting imprint on my life and my yoga practice:
“If you do the task before you, always adhering to strict reason—with zeal and energy, yet with humanity—disregarding all lesser ends, keeping the divinity within you pure and upright…
If you hold steadily to this—staying for nothing, shrinking from nothing—only seeking, in each passing action, a conformity with nature and, in each word, a fearless truthfulness…
Then shall the good life be yours. And from this course, no one has the power to hold you back.”
This simple but profound wisdom has become a foundation in how I approach both philosophy and yoga.
In this workshop, we’ll move beyond the page and into the body — exploring this passage line by line, pose by pose. Together, we’ll discover how stoic philosophy and yogic practice intertwine to bring us closer to clarity, courage, and presence.
🧘 Yoga practice will be guided by Shedeka Marriott, inviting the body to be soothed and encouraged this fall!
We’ll close with intentional journaling and a kombucha toast to celebrate:
#tothegoodlife ✨
