SML Genealogy Presents: Lead Belly at the Broadmoor Branch

Join us for a compelling presentation on the life and legacy of Huddie Ledbetter, better known as Lead Belly—one of America's most influential folk and blues musicians. This program will explore the rich musical contributions of Lead Belly, whose powerful voice and twelve-string guitar helped shape genres from blues to rock and roll. The presentation will delve into how Jim Crow laws and systemic racism not only shaped public perception of Lead Belly but also limited his opportunities and distorted his legacy.
