A Creole Lady’s Stories & Recipes is both a cookbook and a tribute to Karen’s late mother, who taught her the cooking skills she now passes on to her own children. This is a heartfelt compilation of cherished home recipes, beloved family stories, and vibrant images of original paintings by Karen La Beau. This collection invites readers on a journey through the flavors, traditions, and memories of generations past. More than just a cookbook, it weaves together food, art, and history, offering dishes that carry deep meaning alongside artwork that adds a visual narrative to the stories behind the meals. Karen’s work blends the old with the new, creating a timeless celebration of culture, heritage, and the connections that unite us across time.
Come experience how Karen’s passion as a visual artist inspired the creation of this meaningful cookbook and discover how art and food together tell powerful stories.
