About Sukkot:
Sukkot is a festive, week-long holiday celebrating gratitude, nature, and community. Families and friends gather in temporary outdoor huts, called a sukkah, to eat, socialize, and appreciate life’s simple joys. ("Sukkot" is the plural form of sukkah.)

This joyful festival encourages everyone to slow down, reconnect with nature, and embrace hospitality by welcoming guests into their sukkah. It’s a reminder to celebrate life, even its fleeting moments.

Celebrating Sukkot at Home?

Many Jewish people set up a sukkah and invite friends and family to celebrate the holiday in their own homes or synagogues during Sukkot, which takes place this year from October 6–13. For this reason, a few of the Skirball's Sukkot activities will take place throughout the entire month of October, allowing all community members to enjoy the Skirball’s harvest celebration. The Skirball will also continue to showcase Glass Sukkah: This Home Is Not a House through next spring.
