Megan Jean’s Secret Family is a fresh blend of the 70’s by way of the 90’s rock, soul, country, and jam, emphasizing vocal-driven danceable original songs that bring together generations of sound. In May of 2024, the band made their national radio debut on NPR’s Mountain Stage alongside notable acts like Keller Williams and Bettye Lavette. DC Music Review called them one of their “New favorite acts” following an energitc performance at 2024’s DelFest. The band was awarded a creativity grant from the Maryland State Arts Council to produce their debut full-length album PLOT (Play.Loud.On.Turntable) which will be released in Fall 2024. In the three years since their formation they have shared the stage with Fastball, The Spin Doctors, Cabinet, Joan Osbourne, and Cris Jacobs.
The Gypsy Ramblers are a five-piece band who play a blend of gypsy jazz, 'dawg', and blues music. The sound is intriguing and the material is engaging - mixing original instrumental and vocal songs with a handful of unique covers.
The group features Matt Robinson on mandolin, Butch Sanders on drums, Lavinia Reid on violin, Jeff Kauffman on guitar, and Bill Unger on bass. Influences include David Grisman, Joe Craven, Django Reinhardt, and Stephane Grappelli, to name a few, and the sound is reminiscent of these artists.
Equal parts vulnerable as she is cheeky, Rachel May’s mystic soul-folk shines through a uniquely feminine lens. Hailing out of Baltimore, Maryland, her songs are lyrically driven by a roots-deep love for musical storytelling and self-expression.
With her earliest influences attributed to the works of Todd Snider, Joni Mitchell, The Grateful Dead, and Johnny Cash, it's no wonder her own music is curious, exploratory, and poignant in each song’s unraveling of itself.
In May 2024, Rachel had the privilege of playing her first music festival, Charm City Bluegrass. Shortly after, she released her first single, "Janis" on all streaming platforms. Since then, she has played shows and festivals in Baltimore, Virginia, Delaware and beyond, singing solo, with friends, and notably with electric jam-band 5 Spot.
