Holiday Potluck and December Contra
Saturday December 6 at 6:30pm.
Join us for a wonderful evening, starting with our annual holiday potluck, and ending with a wonderful dance with Quill Duvall calling to the music of Raven and Goose. Raven & Goose are a nationally touring contra duo. With fiery fiddlin’ from Corwin Zekley and foot stompin’ piano by Grace Fellows, they play original compositions and breathe new life into traditional tunes, all delivered with a passion that will get you up and dancing!
New dancers and rusty ones are encouraged to be here promptly, the dance starts at 7:30, and we start the evening with simpler dances to review the basics and flow seamlessly into our evening dance. Dancers of all abilities are welcome, no partner is necessary.
Location: War Memorial Building at the corner of German and King Street in Shepherdstown, West Virginia.
Admission: $15 nonmembers, $12 members, $5 dancing kids under 12. Beginner/refresher lesson at 7:30; potluck snacks at the break.
About the Potluck: Bring a dish to share, come at 6:15 and plan to eat at ~ 6:30 This is one of the nicest events of the year, and builds community, so please join us… even if you can’t stay for the evening dance! Make new friends, and connect with old ones! Please arrive promptly, we need to clear away the tables at 7:15 to get ready for the dance.
We can use a few extra hands to set up the room which includes bringing down our sound system, setting up tables and chairs, arranging decorations, and organizing the potluck tables.
