Banned Book Club

Our next read is The Country Girls by Edna O’Brien - quietly revolutionary, deeply intimate, and once so threatening it was banned in Ireland. Why? Because it dared to portray young women with desire, agency, and inner lives outside the bounds of Catholic moral control.
