Please note - this training is only for Sheffield City Council Foster Carers.
Caring for children who experience big emotions can be challenging, especially when they become overwhelmed or dysregulated. This practical training is designed to support foster carers to confidently help children move back to a place of calm and emotional safety.
The session will explore why children leave the “green zone,” how trauma impacts emotional regulation, and—most importantly—what carers can do in the moment to support regulation. This course is suitable for foster carers supporting children of all ages and focuses on realistic, everyday approaches that can be used at home.
