Our archives are open to the public on the first Friday of every month, lovingly curated by the Hillsborough & Owlerton History Group.

Discover fascinating records, photographs, and stories of our Victorian buildings — Burton, Capel, and Langsett — built in 1879 by the Sheffield School Board. Learn about the Bamforth building’s surprising past as a 1990s umbrella factory, complete with striking murals.

From its beginnings as Langsett Road School to the transformation into a vibrant community hub, Burton Street’s journey is one of resilience, creativity, and community spirit.
