In late November we’re going to be hosting a free community lantern parade in Wisewood, for people who live, work or spend time in the neighbourhood.
In the lead-up, artists Patrick Amber and Jo Veal will be hosting a series of free community workshops, open to anyone in Wisewood who would like to have a go at making a lantern. These workshops will focus on creating large lanterns in small groups, and you will ideally need to attend all three workshops, or if that’s not possible then a minimum of two. Workshops will all take place at Wisewood Methodist Church in the main hall, and take place on:
Saturday 1 November 2pm – 5pm
Saturday 8 November 1pm – 4pm
Saturday 15 November 1pm – 4pm
Lots of local groups will also be running their own workshops between now and the parade, and we’ll be hosting sessions with the school and care home too! If you’re a teacher, group leader or community leader and would like your group to get involved, please send an email to

Tickets are free, or you can give an optional donation if you can afford to, which helps us to keep projects and activities like this going in the community. Book here:
