Many GCSE students understand English, but this is not always reflected in exam results. Time pressure, anxiety, overthinking and fear of failure can block clear thinking, especially in Year 11. This 6 week programme is designed for capable students who find exams emotionally and cognitively challenging and would like a clearer understanding of the mark scheme and how to gain valuable marks in both English Language and Literature.
Led by an experienced English teacher and AQA examiner and a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, the programme combines:
✅ Exam insight (what examiners really look for)
✅ Practical strategies for anxiety and focus
✅ Skills to improve clarity, confidence and performance
This is a psycho-educational programme — not therapy, not extra English tuition, and students are never required to share personal information.
The aim is simple: calmer thinking, clearer responses, and more confident GCSE English exams.
