Flo/ra is a genre-blurring jazz quintet led by saxophonist and composer Flo Taylor (Ferg’s Imaginary Big Band, Goddess Collective). Their music explores themes of neurodivergence, identity and grief through emotionally honest, and beautifully arranged compositions.
The music draws on influences from classical, spiritual jazz, folk, drum and bass and chant music to avoid comfortable classification, and to express Flo’s inability to fit comfortably into boxes themselves.

Join us for this wonderful band of new and truly distinctive voices drawn from the vibrant and creative Leeds jazz scene that has brought us so many brilliant bands in recent years. Full line-up:
Flo Taylor: alto saxophone

Henry Skinner: electric guitar
Jaden Hart: double bass

Beautifully arranged, bold, uplifting and melodic music full of expansive themes, head-nodding grooves and a multitude of textures and moods, and with influences including Brad Mehldau, Trish Clowes, Mark Guiliana Jazz Quartet and Pharoah Sanders.
