Weβre extra excited to share details of our new Alpaca Festival happening in Sheffield, 12-14th September 2025! A weekend of music, hands-on workshops, and talks exploring Algorithmic Patterns in the Creative Arts (so maybe that should be AlPaCA but lets just call it Alpaca).
Friday 12th Sept - will include daytime talks as part of the Alpaca conference, leading into an evening seated concert mixing instrumental music and audio/visual live coding. Kourosh Kanani and Matt Davies are an outstanding guitar and percussion duo blending rhythms from South India with soundscapes from Iran and Azerbijian - you might remember Matt from his collaboration with Church Andrews at one of our previous events. Also performing will be live coder superhero Digital Selves and incredible Carnatic percussionist Prathap Ramachandra.
Saturday 13th Sept - an opportunity to get hands-on with a range of workshops exploring patterns through textiles, live coding, juggling, algorithmic drawing and more! Then more talks and our club night going late, featuring top notch algorave and live coding artists. Featuring Bad Circulation, Bundy, Interworld, Myna, Pastagang, Polinski (65dos), Tyger Blue + more TBA. This will happen across both Panke and Delicious Clam, with the former providing a dancefloor and the latter being a chill-out space with hands-on pattern making activities if you like!
Sunday 14th Sept - more workshop opportunities all day, followed by our closing party featuring minimalist percussion duo Wood + Metal and pattern club resident live coders Epiploke (Heavy Lifting and Yaxu).
Tickets are now available, and weβve got a big announcement or two coming and are pretty sure itβs going to sell out so youβll also save yourself the possibility of disappointment.
