Redsands Forts, Thames estuary.
£50 pre person
This trip from the Isle of Sheppey is approximately 8.5 Nautical miles to Redsands Forts (17 Nautical miles in total) 20 miles/32km.
We limit spaces to 5 paddlers using your own equipment.
(I do not run mass paddles for safety reasons)
It is a committing advanced open water sea kayak paddle (subject to the weather conditions on the day) you should expect to be in your boat for up to 6 hours. We will be taking advantage of the Ebbing tide on the way out and the flooding tide on the way back.
Your ability:
Sea kayaking experience to a level of BC 3* (no certificates required) with the ability to listen and paddle with the group as a group member. I will not take anyone on this advanced sea kayak trip if I haven’t paddled with them on a lesser level trip beforehand. A decent level of fitness and mobility will be required.
If you would like to do this trip but don't have the experience, there are other trips that you can participate on beforehand to work towards this amazing experience. This is a high grade advanced sea paddle.
Required equipment:
Ridged 15ft+ enclosed sea kayak with bulkheads that is fit for purpose, sorry inflatables will not be suitable for this trip. Buoyancy aids are mandatory.
We will try and offer an alternative paddle or date provide or a refund. (if the weather conditions are unsuitable for the trip to take place)
Please message us if you would like to join us on this trip. I will not take anyone who I haven't with beforehand on this trip as it is a very committed paddle. We will send you directions to the put-in, more details about the trip and some forms for you to fill in and send back or to bring on the day.
This trip is subject to the weather conditions on the day.
