Let's Make Zines!

Join us in our class space to make some zines! July is International Zine Month, and July 21st marks International Zine Library Day—the perfect time to explore the art of self-publishing. Throughout our normal hours, our space will be open for drop-in zine making, giving you the freedom to create at your own pace.

But what is a zine? Zines are noncommercial, often handmade or digital publications that explore specialized and unconventional topics. They can be any size, shape, or material—used to share a message, teach something new, or even process personal experiences. The possibilities are endless!

We’ll provide a variety of materials, including paper, markers, magazines, and a few graphic design layout stencils to help bring your ideas to life. While we aim to have plenty of supplies available, we encourage you to bring some of your own materials to personalize your zine. Katie will also be bringing her collage materials but her aesthetic might not match yours—so feel free to bring what inspires you!

No prior experience is needed—just bring your creativity and curiosity. Drop in, experiment, and enjoy the process of making your own zine!
