Tuesday, July 29 | 10 – 11:30 am | Introduction to a lifestyle-based approach to brain health and wellness.
Participants will discuss the main pillars of brain health, the Wellness Wheel and the basics of normal aging vs. not normal aging. Each week of the workshop will focus on simple adjustments to lifestyle to enhance brain health and prevent decline.
Tuesday, Aug. 5 | 10 – 11:30 am | Nutrition and the impact of what you eat on your brain.
So much information is being conducted by researchers regarding how diet impacts cognitive health. Participants will talk about it.
Tuesday, Aug. 12 | 10 – 11:30 am | Movement and rest: How do we make sure we are getting enough of each?
Simple ways to add movement and improve sleep hygiene will be discussed.
Tuesday, Aug. 19 | 10 – 11:30 am | Social connection and stress management as a brain booster.
Being socially connected and managing stress are two simple ways to slow or prevent cognitive decline. Participants will explore each.
Tuesday, Sept. 2 | 11 am – 12:30 pm | Purpose, learning and discovery.
It’s more than just crossword puzzles, but that’s a start.
Tuesday, Sept. 9 | 10 – 11:30 am | Maintaining a lifestyle change for a healthy brain going forward.
Participants will revisit with Wellness Wheel and the cycle of change, and talk about ways to make the little adjustments stick for life.
