Save the date!
When the flows are right the Sevier River is an absolute blast! Flows are generally in a boatable range (above 250 cfs) in late June due to a combination of runoff and irrigation releases. We'll keep an eye on flows and send out a member email for this event as the dates draw near. Always hoping for that sweet spot of 500cfs.
The run is about six miles long and we will try for two or more runs in a day. It is short, fast, and fun, but can be shallow and much of the run has very little space or eddies to stop in groups to rest. Due to the long and continuous nature of the rapids on this run it is not recommended for absolute beginners.
This event will be open to CLUB MEMBERS ONLY. To become a member and gain early access to this and all 2026 club events fill out the membership interest form here:

Camp: Friday & Saturday June 19th & 20th
Campsites: TBD
River Runs: Twice on Saturday, and most participants will also paddle on Sunday.
River summary:

Here is what the American Whitewater site says about the correct levels and correct gauge: "Real-time Sevier River flows are available at this link:
http://www.sevierriver.org/rivers/central/. The flow at [Sevier River above] Clear Creek is the amount of water that will be in this run. There is sufficient water for packrafting, tubing, paddleboarding, and kayaking at 200 cfs, although 250 cfs provides a bit more padding on the rocks. Anything above 300 is good for rafts."

Special take-out notes: you must park in the lot that is across the road from the river. The land next to the river is private.
Minimum skill level needed:
Ability to catch small eddies, stay with the group, and swim safely through a rapid if you end up in the water unable to get back in your boat.
Kayakers: if you don't have a reliable roll, the ability to tap for t-rescue first, then wet exit and swim safely through a rapid if needed.
Required personal gear:
All craft: PFD rated for whitewater is required. Helmet is highly recommended for all types of water craft.
Hardshell Kayaks additionally: Helmet, float bags or similar.
Appropriate footwear for cold water and walking on slippery uneven shores.
Appropriate thermal wear: Dress for the water temperature as well as the air. The temperatures at the put in are usually quite hot, but the run goes through a narrow canyon and be a bit shadier and cooler. The water will be fairly cold no matter what and the river is really splashy. If you run cold, or know, or think there's a possibility you'll be spending time in the water (practicing rolling and self-rescue), consider wearing some type of thermal protection: a drysuit or some combination of wetsuits/neoprene, dry top/bottom, and splash wear with thermals. Make sure you have warm/dry clothes available at the takeout.
