Save the Date!
The Green River Daily will be our first trip of the Spring. We're excited to get on the river with friends we know, and friends we will make!
Sign ups for this event will initially be handled through email to members, sent two weeks before the event. After members have had a change to sign up we will make the sign up link available to non-members. Non-members will need to sign an online ACA waiver, as well as pay the event and waiver fees. To become a member and gain early access to this and all 2026 club events fill out the membership interest form here:

All UWC events are free or low cost for members, so the costs to join pays for itself quickly.
Generally there are two runs on Saturday and one on Sunday.
Characteristics of the Run: The Green River Daily is a scenic 6-8 mile paddle (multiple put in options) with about 6-7 well spaced pool and drop rapids in the II/II+ range, with one that could be a III during higher water years. This is a good run for beginners/novices to get used to rivers, or for tuning up your paddling skills and gear as we head into the river season.
Water Levels: There's no way to exactly predict what the water level will be, but here is a link to a 5 year graph:
https://www.dreamflows.com/graphs/yir.157.png
Minimum skill level needed:
Ability to catch easy eddies, stay with the group, and swim safely through a rapid if you end up in the water unable to get back in your boat.
Kayakers: if you don't have a reliable roll, the ability to tap for t-rescue first, then wet exit and swim safely through a rapid if needed.
Required personal gear:
All craft: PFD rated for whitewater is required. Helmet is highly recommended for all types of water craft.
Hardshell Kayaks additionally: Helmet, float bags or similar.
Appropriate footwear for cold water and walking on slippery uneven shores.
Appropriate thermal wear: Dress for the water temperature as well as the air. By late April the spring temperatures are usually warming up and the days may be very pleasant, but the water will be fairly cold no matter what. Wear a drysuit or some combination of wetsuits/neoprene, dry top/bottom, and splash wear with thermals. And make sure you have warm/dry clothes available at the takeout.
