Sestri Levante si tinge nuovamente di Blues.
Venerdì 13 Giugno sarà la volta di Tony D, talentoso e pluripremiato chitarrista Canadese supportato per l'occasione dalla nostrana band dei Gamblers.
Tony D attualmente impegnato in un tour europeo ci presenterà l'album appena uscito Electric Delta

TONY D
Tony D (Diteodoro), guitarist for Juno award winning band MonkeyJunk, has been laying it down for over forty years. MonkeyJunk has amassed twenty Maple Blues awards and a Blues Music Award, (formerly known as The Handy Awards).
At the age of thirteen, Tony began his musical journey on the guitar. Learning mostly in the blues, rock jazz stylings. From Muddy Waters to Jimi Hendrix to Jimmy Page to Albert King to Wes Montgomery and all the points in between .
At the age of nineteen, Tony was given the opportunity to play rhythm guitar, for three days, for the legendary Buddy Guy. Years later he had the prestigious opening slot for the late great Stevie Ray Vaughan at Ottawa’s NAC.
In the early nineties having taken a trip to Europe and securing a record deal out of Holland, Tony became one of the first Canadian blues musicians to tour Europe. In 2020 Tony released his latest project, SPEAK NO EVIL, a compilation of instrumentals that span his career.
The Blues and anything that falls under that umbrella being his first love, but Tony D has also explored various forms of music. Flamenco became another obsession and after studying the form for two years he joined a troupe which made him write pseudo-flamenco and Spanish rhythm instrumentals which he still plays today in his solo shows.
From The delta to the desert it all comes from places of devotion, musical devotion.

THE GAMBLERS
The Gamblers sono stati in tutta Europa la band di
supporto per artisti di prima grandezza come Jerry
Portnoy (armonicista di Muddy Waters e di Eric
Clapton), Otis Grand, Guitar Ray Scona, Big Pete
Pearson, Paul Reddick, Deitra Farr, Jumping Johnny
Sansone, Sonny Rhodes, Keith Dunn, Kirk Fletcher,
Steve Marriner e Tony D dei Monkey Junk e molti altri.
Tra queste collaborazioni alcune hanno generato non
solo forti relazioni professionali e personali ma anche
prodotti di grande successo come i dischi “New
Sensation”, “Poorman Blues” e “Hipster Blues” di Otis
Grand (2004, 2005, 2007), il concerto al Cazorla Blues
Festival assieme a Jerry Portnoy (2005), il tour europeo
con il canadese Paul Reddick (2010) che vede
quest'ultimo coinvolto nella produzione artistica
dell'album “Photograph” (2015) e con lo statunitense
Big Pete Pearson (2011, 2012) e conseguente lavoro di
registrazione in studio che vede l' uscita nel 2012
dell'album “Choose”. Un nuovo tour con Paul Reddick,
Steve Marriner e Tony D vede l’uscita nell’anno 2020
dell’album “Alive in Italia" pubblicato dall'etichetta
canadese Stony Plain.
Attualmente in attività The Gamblers lavorano con
passione per dare il proprio contributo alla scena blues
internazionale.
