Artworks Gallery Offers Wet-In-Wet Watercolor Workshop
The Artworks Gallery offers Wet-In-Wet Watercolor Painting Workshop with Roberta Nelson on Thursday, August 21, from 1 to 4 p.m. The workshop will be held at the Artworks Gallery, 109 Fall Street in downtown Seneca Falls.
The workshop focuses on the wet-in-wet method of watercolor painting. The paints are applied to wet paper or other wet colors which makes controlling their flow difficult, but creates very interesting and pleasing results. The use of various washes (flat, graded, granulated, transparent, and superimposed) also enhance the effects.
Roberta says, “This method is excellent for atmospheric effects, exaggerated forms, and soft edges. Skies and water are excellent subjects for this technique. Working in this method is really a lot of fun and exciting results and surprises occur.” Participants need to bring a set of watercolor paints (do not buy tube colors that say tint), brushes, cold pressed 140lb. wt. watercolor paper 9”x 12” or larger, a board to stretch the paper, masking or painters tape, water container, paper towels, pencil, eraser, and photos to use for subjects. The instructor will provide information sheets.
Cost os $30 and register by August 14. To register for the workshop email
