About the event

Steve Lawrence 5K

We are hosting a 5K walk in honour of Steve. In March 2024 Steve was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme, which is the most aggressive and most common type of cancer that originates in the brain. Steve left us on March 7, 2025 and is missed dearly. Steve was a community guy so this is a great way to remember him.

The 5K run is through the Glioblastoma Research Organization which is American based ( https://fundraise.gbmresearch.org/team/645063) so donations to CancerCare MB ( https://www.cancercare.mb.ca/Ways-To-Help/donate) or Brain Cancer Canada ( https://www.braincancercanada.ca) are welcome. This is an awareness walk so you don’t have to give anything but your time and energy (most valued things to Steve).

We’d love to see our friends, family and meet some new people too!
