Victor Fusté and Zack Rosenberg present 'T.S. Hullabaloo'

Third Place Books is pleased to welcome authors Victor Fusté and Zack Rosenberg to our Ravenna store for a conversation about their creative, funny, and big-hearted graphic novel — the story of a sixth grader named Jack who reluctantly finds himself the caretaker of a disruptive Hullabaloo. Perfect for anyone who's ever had to reckon with a new disability or an unexpected life change, this is a story about celebrating difference and opening up to the possibilities brought by change.

A mysterious creature called a Hullabaloo has attached itself to a sixth grader named Jack in this beautifully illustrated and humorous graphic novel that celebrates our differences and life's changes. Perfect for fans of Raina Telgemeier and Disney*Pixar's Inside Out.

Jack Daring has always been just a typical kid. But his life becomes anything but typical when a mischievous cat-like creature called a Hullabaloo attaches itself to him, causing chaos in his life. Now Jack must not only navigate the tumultuous middle school hallways, but also learn how to live with his newfound companion. He'll have to use the help of his classmates and their varied Hullabaloos to learn how to adapt to—and thrive within—this new normal. This original graphic novel—with a dyslexia-friendly font—will have readers laughing and cringing at the hijinks of Jack and TS.

Victor Fusté is a graphic novel author, storyboard artist, writer and narrative designer for video games. He’s worked on projects for Sony, DreamWorks Animation, Studio MDHR, and Insight Editions, to name a few. Born and raised in Tacoma, you’ll find him in the woods of the Pacific Northwest with his family and poorly behaved dog.

Zack Rosenberg is a New York-based writer who leverages his passion for comics, animation, and storytelling to craft engaging narratives. Living with Tourette Syndrome, he brings a unique perspective to his work, infusing his stories with humor, heart, and a touch of the unexpected. Zack is collaborative to his core and always open to new ideas and perspectives. Though his artistic abilities may be limited to stick figures, his imagination knows no bounds.
