Paperback to Hardcover Conversion

Turn beloved paperbacks into treasured hardcovers over the course of one day!

There are many reasons to transform a paperback to a hardcover, and in this workshop, we’ll go over the process of re-casing paperback books. This will add many years of life onto the works you wish to preserve and allow you to create a custom cover for a book you love.

What you'll learn:

• Reasons for re-binding a book
• How to remove the original cover
• How to make a new cover
• How to attach the new cover to the textblock

What you'll make: A new hardcover for a paperback book. Select from our collection of cover materials (various leathers and kraftex) and thread colors to create a piece that's uniquely yours and highlights elements of the book.

What's included: All materials minus the paperback you wish to convert! This includes cover material, waxed linen thread in multiple colors, needles, and awls, as well as expert instruction throughout the day with individualized guidance.

Perfect for: Anyone who has a paperback they want to give new life to!

Note: This intensive format allows for deeper skill development and individual attention. Class size limited to 4 participants for maximum hands-on guidance and troubleshooting.

Wear comfortable clothes. Bring lunch or plan to grab food nearby during our break.
