Newcomer/Novice Group Workshops are back! Local WSDC event Retaliation Swing is coming up Sept 19-21 and I want to make sure our dancers are prepared.
This workshop is for dancers who haven't ever completed and either want to or are curious, and are either newcomer or novice level.
We will go over competition strategy, what's expected for those levels as a lead and follow, keeping a healthy mindset, what the judges are looking for, how to read and understand scores, and at the end we will have a mock jnj so we can practice lining up, rotating, "competing" with different partners, and learning how to listen to the MC ;)
Please join us if you have never competed at a WSDC event, if you're newcomer or novice, if you don't know what newcomer or novice is, if you don't want to compete yet but you're curious, or if you have questions about the whole weekend event set up.
We will be listening and learning, asking questions, dancing together, and in our own bodies as well to help prepare and explore the skills needed to compete.
Location is Phinney Blue Building RM 2
cost is $10-20 sliding scale.
It's not a large room, but we will be dancing solo, together, taking notes, etc so I didn't want to put a cap on attendance.
