Join us as we welcome author Miranda Mundt to Haunted Burrow Books! They will be discussing Muted: Volume Two in conversation with fellow artist Wendy Martin. The discussion will be followed by an audience Q&A and a book signing.

About the Author, Miranda Mundt

Miranda Mundt is a Seattle area–based graphic novelist best known for their webcomic Muted and for co-creating LoveBot with their wife, fellow artist Chase Keels. Mundt studied 2D animation at Vancouver Film School and has also worked extensively as a freelance illustrator, layout designer, and graphic designer. Muted: Volume Two, published by Ten Speed Graphic, is their most recent graphic novel.

About Wendy Martin

Wendy Martin was born in the Midwest and grew up in Iowa. She spent her childhood raising animals, but she spent even more time drawing them. As she grew older, she dedicated more time to the arts and creating fantasy comics and stories, particularly ones that involved characters who were half human and half animal. After graduating high school, she worked as a waitress and continued making comics on the side until Castle Swimmer, a story about two mermen, was picked up by Ten Speed Graphic and allowed her to draw comics full time. Castle Swimmer: Volume Two is her most recent graphic novel.

About the book

After unlocking unique magical powers, a young witch must balance familial expectations, personal demons, and new relationships in this stunning second volume of Muted. In Volume Two, Camille receives an unsettling call blindsiding her with news of her arranged marriage. But when she stands up for herself and her freedom, she creates a rift with her beloved cousin Avaline and gains an uncontrollable new ability triggered by overwhelming emotions. Luckily, Camille has Dendro, the plant demon she summoned, to help her come to terms with her past trauma and fully embrace the beauty of her magic.

HBB is an independent bookstore in Capital Hill Focusing on horror, fantasy, sci-fi, and other moody books.

About attending events at Haunted Burrow

• Attendees are welcome to bring previous books by the author for signings, but please do not bring copies of the newest book.
• Masks are optional.
• Attendees can find unpaid parking about two blocks off the main road, paid street parking on 15th Ave, and an affordable paid lot on the same block. Attendees are encouraged to use public transit.
• Drinks are welcome, but please don't bring food unless medically necessary.
• HBB does not normally have a public restroom because it is in the back office, but we will be making exceptions for this event. Please be respectful of the space.
