Over the years, there has been a gradual shift in the transportation industry from car-centric planning to multimodal planning. Specifically for pedestrians, there is a growing need to fully understand how pedestrians interact with each other and other modes of travel (cars, buses, trains, and cyclists) in varying spaces. Our project evaluates pedestrian movement and transfer behavior at a planned light rail station by simulating bus–light rail transfers across multiple station levels. By analyzing walk times, routing behavior, and potential bottlenecks under both typical and disrupted conditions, the study informs station layout and operational decisions that enhance safety, efficiency, and the overall passenger experience.
