How to land your ideal role in this economy

This economy and hiring is tough.

But the common advice doesn't make it easier. How are you supposed to move forward in your job search when the common job search advice feels sleezy?

Most people hate-

• Going to networking events.
• Messaging complete strangers on LinkedIn.
• Creating 35 different versions of your resume.

These actions don't work for most people.

Especially in this hiring climate.

This is what I do. For the past 6 years, I have worked with 171 job seekers (well, technically 771 if you count my master's students). I teach them how to get jobs when the last thing that they want to do is market themselves for a new role.

Most of my clients were in a toxic work environment, going through a divorce, recovering from health issues, or just not feeling confident at that point in their lives.

Here are some examples of clients I have worked with:

Sarah K got her dream job in tech, but it turned out to be a toxic environment. Before her contract ended, she landed the role that she is still in today and loves.

Alison worked with me to make a huge pivot from elementary school teaching to Zillow, landing a 90% increase in salary. She called me after she had gotten laid off. By the time we talked, she had already landed another job. There was no interruption between jobs; she started the new job before her severance ended, and she got a signing bonus and a higher salary.

2. Draw out your most valuable skills
3. Avoid having to spend hours on your resume for every job application
4. Look for a job after a layoff or if you are expecting a layoff.
