Discover Hawaiian Art — Design & Print Your Own Tote

Drop in for a free, hands-on workshop with Native Hawaiian artist Malia Peoples! Learn about kapa, the traditional barkcloth of Hawaii , and explore its cultural significance through demonstrations, traditional tools, and stories of Hawaiian history.

Participants will design their own ‘ohe kapala-inspired stamps using simple materials, then create a printed piece of art or a tote bag to take home (limited to the first 10 attendees). No carving or art experience required, all ages and skill levels are welcome. All supplies are included.
