Comedy for A Joyful Cause

Jeannine Luby, comedian and owner of Laugh to Live, a business focused on promoting the healing and wellness benefits of laughter and humor, is collaborating with friend and business owner Megan Alpert of Joy World Wealth Partners to deliver an evening of fun and funny! *This event will feature complimentary popcorn and nonalcoholic beverages.

This stand up comedy show, for ages 18 and over, will feature three of the region's funniest comedians:

Jeremy Pryal has been entertaining in clubs, college campuses and other shows across the East Coast since he was a teen-ager. Now, he shares comedy that reflects his life as a husband and father, while reminsicing about stories from his youth that are not that long ago.

Micki Orlowski has been lighting up stages around NEPA for the past handful of years in a variety of art forms including dance, theater and stand up comedy. She can be seen nearly every Friday evening performing at Electric City Improv in downton Scranton as one of their main improv players.

Funny Wine Girl Jeannine Luby was a semi finalist in this past summer's NEPA's Funniest Competition hosted by Wise Crackers Comedy Club. In addition to owning Laugh to Live, she produces and performs in comedy shows typically by women and for women, and she hosts a weekly podcast called Uncorked with Funny Wine Girl.

Megan Alpert of Joy World is excited to host the comedy show in her business location because she celebrates September as Joy Month, created in honor of her dear friend Lindsay who died of cancer and was the inspiration for the nonprofit spreadJOY.

A portion of ticket sales will benefit the nonprofit spreadJOY, the nonprofit whose goal is to fulfill needs for and give a pick-me-up to people going through a difficult time in their life. This might mean delivering a hot meal or a house cleaning service to someone in need, it might mean giving someone an Uber gift card to use for rides to doctor appointments, or it might mean being able to provide someone with an amazing memory-making experience! The public can nominate someone and the board approves.

Examples over the last 5 years of spreading joy has included cozy items for those going through chemo, gift cards for gas and uber service to help people driving back and forth for treatment, restaurant gift cards for meals, hotel discounts, inspirational items and books, games, favorite snacks, etc. Each individual act of joy is customized based on the nominee.
