Surrender Day – Oct. 17 in Schuylerville
The Town of Saratoga and the Village of Schuylerville will host the 248th anniversary of the Surrender at Saratoga on Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at Fort Hardy Park, Schuylerville. The annual ceremony commemorates the 1777 surrender of British General John Burgoyne to American General Horatio Gates after the Battles of Saratoga, a turning point in the American Revolution.
The program will include living historians, cannon salutes, music, and student readings. The event is free and open to the public.
