2025 Copeechan Catfish Contest
1. Contest is Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 4:00PM – 11:00PM. All contest participants must register at the Snack Shack prior to the start of the contest.
2. Contest fee is $25 per pole (3 catfish limit) for Copeechan members, any additional pole purchase is good for contest day only! Club rules apply remainder of the week. Non-members contest fee is $45 per pole (3 catfish limit) and allows catfish fishing for contest day only!
3. Artificial lures and bait are permitted.
4. Prizes will be awarded by a points system, based on combined length (1 point per inch) and weight (1 point per pound) of catfish (ex: 15” catfish – 15 points, which weights 5 lbs. – 5 points = 20 points total). If a tie, earliest recorded fish entry at the measuring station will prevail.
5. Unlimited catch and release of catfish will be permitted on contest day only! Cannot have more than 3 fish on a stringer at any time and each person must use their own stringer. Contestants will only be allowed to register 3 catfish at the measuring station. Once 3rd catfish is recorded, you are required to stop fishing unless additional contest fee is purchased.
6. ALL TROUT MUST BE RELEASED IF CAUGHT DURING CATFISH CONTEST!
7. No open fires permitted with the exception of the Copeechan fire pit located in front of the Snack Shack. Lanterns and other artificial lights allowed.
8. Pond will be closed from 11:01PM on Saturday, September 6, 2025 until 8:00AM on Sunday, September 7, 2025. Reopening to Copeechan members who purchased a catfish contest bracelet from 9/7 – 9/13/25, all club fishing rules apply. Pond opens to all current club members with fishing stamp on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
