THIRDSDAY NITE #007 The Cribtet

‘THIRDSDAY NITE’ is a monthly jazz show at the Van Dyck Music Club held on the Third Thursday of every month - Show #007 features The Cribtet!

The Cribtet is a six-piece band with its roots in hard bop jazz, but a focus on the original music compoised by members of the band. Formed in 2024, the bandmates started working together when four musicians moved into a house together (better known as “The Crib”) and started rehearsing original music. After getting a couple more musicians involved in the reading sessions, the quartet quickly expanded to a sextet. All of the members originally met through studying music together at the Hartt School’s Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz in Hartford, CT, with the members originating from across the country. The musicians that comprise The Cribtet include Patrick Gordon (Bass), Dan Jantson (Drums), Parker Lewis (Trombone), Ben Malynoski (Tenor Saxophone), Aidan Slate (Piano) and Gavin Tarling (Alto Saxophone). 

The Cribtet is excited to return to Schenectady and debut their original music, after Dan Jantson (an Upstate NY native) brought the band to at Stella Pasta Bar for the Schenectady Soup Stroll in January. Dan has played doenstairs at the restuarant a couple times before with some great Albany-based musicians, and is looking forward to showcase some Hartford players upstairs in this historic venue -we're thrilled to welcome back these incredible young musicians to Stockade as part of Thirdsday Nite!
