Modified River Loop, Cohoes falls, Ice Cream, Club members only

The next event in the summertime social ride series starts at Jumpin Jacks in Scotia. Park behind the building. We will meet up at the river before we roll out. This is a modified river loop to include a stop at the Cohoes Water Falls overlook. After that, we will jump on the newer portion of the bike trail and head back towards the start. A shaker Bay detour and then back on the trail through Schenectady this week, and back to Jumpin Jacks for a cool treat. We will stay together, no drop until we get to the top of the Rexford Bridge hill and go right onto River Road. From there, it's just over 9 miles, and we will likely turn up the speed and pace lining until we go over the Northway bridge. We will re-group after the bridge for a few minutes, and then we'll roll off. At mile 17, we will hop onto the gravel bike path and go under the bridge at Route 9. There's a Stewarts on the other side if you need something, but I don't think the group will be stopping. There's another Stewarts at mile 19 and mile 22. The group will stop at mile 24 for a short photo op at the Cohoes Falls overlook. Then it's back to the bike path until we hop off around mile 30 to hit the Shaker Bay Loop. We will regroup for a few minutes after the loop. Then it's back on the trail until we go through Schenectady, the casino, and a bit of the Stockade. Back across the Scotia Bridge to the start, and ice cream awaits you.
All are welcome, but we may end up splitting into separate groups if you can't keep up. Ride at your own pace and have the route in case you need it. I expect the ride to take just about 3 hours with stops. I will be adding on after the ride for another 50 miles if anyone is interested. No particular route in mind yet. Text me at 518-399-0081 if you want to do the add-on, or you can't make the 9 am start and want to ride later. As always, ride at your own risk and follow the rules of the road.
