What is Mental Health First Aid for Fire & EMS?
Mental Health First Aid for Fire/EMS is an evidence-based training program designed to equip adults with the skills to assist community members facing mental health or substance use challenges.

Learn a 5-step action plan to provide initial support to individuals showing early signs of mental illness or experiencing a crisis. This training is tailored to highlight the importance of mental health within the Fire/EMS community, addressing specific risk and protective factors relevant to their roles.

Learn how to respond with the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan (ALGEE):

Assess for risk of suicide or harm.
Listen nonjudgmentally.
Give reassurance and information.
Encourage appropriate professional help.
Encourage self-help and other support strategies
