Join us for a workshop dedicated to rethinking the world around us through a decolonial lens. "Possible Decolonial Futures: Let's Rethink Our Minds" invites participants to explore how colonial legacies continue to shape contemporary issues such as migration, citizenship, and cultural identity.
Through a combination of interactive activities, discussions, and creative exercises, we will collectively examine concepts such as islamophobia, civil resistance, and cultural memory and how they are still connected to Europe's colonial history. The workshop will also feature an engaging Zine Lab, where participants will have the opportunity to use zine-making as a creative and political tool for decolonial expression.
The program begins with a guided urban tour through Schaerbeek, followed by a group debate on critical concepts. In the second part of the workshop, we will turn our focus to the contemporary struggles like the one for the liberation in Palestine, with an audio-visual presentation of poetry, slam, and art, alongside a presentation of the latest IHRC research. The day will conclude with a hands-on workshop on how to build a decolonial zine, followed by an open Q&A session.
