Welcome to Pinball for Change! This is the information page and signup form for our July Pingolf Tournament.
This tournament will be held in Scarborough, near Port Union and Lawrence at Walt's house. You must register to receive the exact address and final details.
We are planning a 13 hole Pingolf Tournament, subject to change as some machines are in my basement on loan from a friend. Pingolf qualifying will take place on Wednesday July 16 and Thursday July 17 from 6:30-10, but we ask people to please arrive and start by 8:30 pm at the latest. Players will also be welcome to qualify Saturday July 19 at 10 am, 12:30 pm or 3 pm. Pingolf machines and target scores will be revealed to registered participants the week before the tournament.
Playoffs will be 3 hole matches, pingolf rules, with the top seed choosing the bank. There will be 3 banks available to choose from, and no top seed can pick the same bank twice, unless we wind up with 4 rounds with no byes. We will qualify 8, 16, 20 or 24 players for the playoffs, depending on the total number of players competing. That will also be revealed ahead of time as the number of players takes shape. Byes may be necessary - but we'll sort that at tournament time. Any significant tiebreaks will be played at 6:30 pm. Playoffs will start Saturday July 19 at 7 pm. Number of players in the basement at any one qualifying point will be limited to 12 maximum.
This tournament will be a fundraiser for the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Hospital, as a beloved family member was recently being treated there, and declared cancer free just this week! Cost to enter is a $25 donation to the Hospital, either cash at the door or directly to the hospital website (link provided later). A 2nd round can be played for an additional $15, but two attempts at the course will be the limit. $1 from each player will be withheld for the IFPA fee.
We'll have pop/water available to players, but food will not be provided for qualifying. Every cent being taken in is being donated or sent to the IFPA.
