Paddle Out Protest - Scarborough

Water companies across the UK are continuing to dump a toxic chemical cocktail of untreated sewage straight into our waterways, polluting our rivers and seas, putting human health at risk and destroying our vital ecosystems. Just in 2024 alone, Yorkshire Water were responsible for 430,263 hours of sewage discharges, with North Bay and South Bay in Scarborough both among the 10 most impacted locations in the region.

This is unacceptable. As surfers, paddlers, dippers and people who simply love Scarborough and its beaches, we’re standing up to demand real, transformational change to #EndSewagePollution once and for all. On Saturday 17th May, we will be taking to the beach at South Bay as a part of Surfers Against Sewage’s nationwide Paddle Out Protests.
