New Jazz Generation: Black White Square Form, Em Gaskell, Twisted Liquorice

On October 1st Scarborough Jazz Club presents a showcase of emerging local music talent. Previous NJG performers are now making careers in music post-university, one band having won an international jazz competition.

TWISTED LIQUORICE make their second appearance at the club. Led by young saxophonist Jacob Robinson, the band mix jazz and soul standards with vocals and instrumental solos.

EM GASKELL is a local singer/songwriter, crafting beautiful songs sung with an exquisite voice. Recently seen as part of popular group ‘Lights Out’ this is opportunity to hear her in a purely acoustic setting.

BLACK WHITE SQUARE FORM have been stalwarts of our NJG spots for the past couple of years. With the ability to deliver something new every time they play, expect original clever twists on familiar themes and original compositions including tunes from their alter-ego post-rock band, The Limeys.

This is opportunity to see and support the future of live music.
