Murray Robinson + St Jude & The Hopeless Causes

On September 3rd Scarborough Jazz Club welcomes saxophonist Murray Robinson, one of the first young musicians to play our 'New Jazz Generation' programme and now a graduate of Leeds Conservatoire. Murry’s musical interests include Japanese jazz culture, iconic video game soundtracks and leading a 12 piece band playing original arrangements that blend jazz, funk and fusion. His own playing is inspired by current saxophone giants such as Joel Frahm, Eric Alexander and Patrick Bartley. Check them out.

Playing a mix of standards, with some arrangements by the players he admires, Murray is backed by Leeds based guitarist Louis Cryer, Bob Walker on bass guitar, Rowan Oliver on drums, and Adrian Riley on congas.

In support is St Jude and The Hopeless Causes - the Scarborough-based 'jam band' mixing catchy riffs with extended improvisations. Dylan Riley on guitar, Elijah Welsh on bass, and Moses Carpeneter on drums.

This is a great line up showcasing local musical talent - don't miss it.
