Kizoma and Semba Fundamentals

❗❗❗Come join us for our Kizomba Fundamentals classes and learn two dance styles that are quickly building in popularity❗❗❗

⭐ Kizomba refers to a musical genre and the dance that accompanies it, being part of Angola’s culture. This genre first spread to Portuguese-speaking countries, then to European countries, and then to non-European countries such as the United States and Australia.

⭐ Semba is a traditional Angolan musical and dance genre that emerged and became popular in the 1950s. It’s considered the precursor to kizomba like other Angolan music like kuduro. Semba music and dance are rooted in the Angolan culture and have been influenced by various ethno-linguistic groups and African rhythms.
