Don Teuton, Bonaventure Historical Society
“History in Headstones… Bonaventure’s Legacy"
Don, whose nickname is “Bonaventure Don”, knows Bonaventure inside and out! He is famous for his walking tour of the cemetery, where his parents, grandparents and great-grandparents are buried. Don’s comprehensive and knowledgeable tour offers an introduction to "the graves, the Live Oaks, the Azaleas, the Camellias, and the real history behind Bonaventure Cemetery. I will introduce you to Confederate Generals, slave traders, a musical genius and the South’s very first feminist. And, along the way, you may discover a hidden piece from Tiffany.”
As past Vice-Chairman of the Bonaventure Historical Society and active volunteer for BHS, he considers Bonaventure a family tradition. Come meet Don and hear firsthand about Savannah’s beautiful Bonaventure cemetery, including its history, legends and myths.
The Speakers Series is at no charge and open to the public.
