An Evening with Rick Atkinson

Join us for an evening with Pulitzer Prize–winning historian Rick Atkinson on Thursday, October 9, 2025, as part of GHS’s US 250 commemoration and the kickoff of the Georgia History Festival!

This free, public event at Congregation Mickve Israel in Savannah (on the anniversary of the Revolutionary Siege of Savannah) features a lively conversation between Atkinson and Dr. Stan Deaton, GHS’s Dr. Elaine B. Andrews Distinguished Historian, about Atkinson’s latest work, The Fate of the Day: The War for America, Fort Ticonderoga to Charleston, 1777–1780.

Experience the story of the pivotal middle years of the American Revolution, when George Washington’s army fought on the knife edge between victory and defeat. Don’t miss it!
