On behalf of the Beta Phi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, Inc. and the Beach Institute we would like to invite you to an exclusive, limited seating lecture about the 135th United States Colored Troop formed here in Georgia during the Civil War.
Scheduled July 26, 2025, 3:00 p.m., at the Beach Institute, 502 E. Harris Street, $20.00 admission, “It’s All About Guts” is a conversation about the courage and valor of black men in the 1800’s in the context of the Monroe Doctrine’s stereotypes.
As an historian, community leader, or educator, your input and collaboration are requested and appreciated as we start the conversation about dispelling the myth and spreading a more accurate image of the role of black men in forming this country.
