New Moon Hike

We’re offering our first-ever night hike in conjunction with “LIGHTS-OUT AT OVAL BEACH,” a free public event that aims to raise awareness about light pollution while providing a chance to enjoy the night sky on one of the darkest nights of the year. You may even see a shooting star!

We’ll walk down to the pier and back – a two-mile loop. To preserve your night vision, please don’t plan to use white light. Headlamps with a red light mode are available at many stores.

You may want to put October 22 on your calendar as well, because if it’s too cloudy on the 21st, we’ll try again the following night.
