Brain Body Connection with Meghann Michalsky

Professional and emerging dancers are welcome to attend the online zoom platform based Brain-Body Connection Professional Development Series hosted by Free Flow Dance Theatre free of charge. If you would like and can afford to make a donation to support the future of the company please do! We are pleased to host this series of workshops with the support of the Community Initiative Fund, City of Saskatoon and Sasktel.

This workshop will be in person at Free Flow Dance Centre, with Meghan Michalsky streaming in digitally as our instructor.

Training Specificity

This workshop, designed for emerging and professional dancers, explores two essential avenues of training: developing critical thinking (or “dance IQ”) and cultivating physical specificity.
We’ll begin with physical training focused on enhancing range, power, and functional capacity in key muscles and joints, using approaches drawn from various Contemporary dance methods. In the second half, we’ll shift to improvisation techniques aimed at developing specificity in movement choices and generating clear choreographic material for choreographic processes.
