We are very excited to invite you to this unique opportunity to learn about Gaza and the West Bank through the eyes of photographer and speaker, Greg Smith. Greg is a good friend of our very own Dr. Khaled Nigim who has been kind enough to connect us.
Please join us on Sunday, June 15th @ 1pm.
Greg's words speak for themselves:
"In the past thirty-five years, I have traveled to seven continents and dozens of countries to capture images, stories and the beauty of all that the world has to offer. I have met hundreds of people, brought back artifacts and photographs of the wonders of this world, and then shared these experiences with audiences and travelers from every point of the compass.
My enthusiasm for these natural places and the people who share our world has led me to making presentations to dozens of schools, libraries, civic organizations and churches in the US, Australia and Africa. This has been one of the joys of my life. But there have been disturbing and even heartbreaking times along the way, too, and Palestine is one of those extremely anguishing places we cannot forget.
I have worked for USAID (now completely eliminated by the US administration) in Africa, the Kingdom of Lesotho and in Gaza, Palestine. I have been part of the World Bank project with Dr. Khaled Nigim in the West Bank.
Of all [my] incredible opportunities to share ideas and expertise with others, Gaza has remained the closest to my heart and my feeling of helplessness to aid in doing the right thing for another people. This presentation will explore Palestine, what the Palestinian people have endured and the very precarious future they are faced with in the coming years.
Come and share your ideas, perspectives and empathy for these wonderful, creative and deeply caring people.”
