Celebrating 50 Years of Compassion and Service: Honoring Our Saratoga Legacy
In 1975, Catholic Charities opened its doors in Saratoga Springs with a simple but powerful mission: to serve those in need with compassion, dignity, and hope. Today, as we celebrate 50 years of unwavering service, we reflect on the profound impact this mission has had on our community.
Over the decades, our Saratoga location has become a beacon of support for individuals and families facing life’s most difficult challenges. From emergency financial assistance that helps keep the lights on and food on the table, to counseling and mentoring that offer healing and guidance, our services have grown to meet the evolving needs of our neighbors.
We are proud to offer a wide range of programs, including:
Mentoring for youth seeking connection and guidance
Counseling services to support mental health and emotional well-being
Nutrition Outreach and Education to promote healthy living and food security
Domestic Violence Services that provide safety, advocacy, and hope
Emergency Financial Assistance to help individuals and families through crisis
In 2003, we opened Mary’s Haven, the first community home for the dying in Saratoga County—a sacred space where those at the end of life are cared for with love, dignity, and peace. It remains one of our most cherished ministries, embodying the heart of our mission.
This 50th anniversary is not just a celebration of years—it’s a celebration of people. Of the clients who found hope, the volunteers who gave selflessly, the donors who believed in our cause, and the staff who carried our mission forward with grace and grit.
We are honored to have Tom and Kristie Roohan serve as our Honorary Chairs for this milestone celebration. Their deep commitment to community and service reflects the very spirit of Catholic Charities.
Join us as we honor this incredible legacy and look ahead to a future filled with promise. Our 50th Anniversary Celebration will be a joyful gathering of gratitude, remembrance, and renewed commitment to serving those most in need. Tickets include entry to the gala, open bar, passed hors d'oeuvres and food stations. Stay tuned for information about our online silent auction that will open one week before the gala on September 25th!
Because for 50 years, Catholic Charities has been here—when it matters most. And with your support, we’ll be here for 50 more.
