Coco Montoya

"Just play what you feel, be real about it, and enjoy yourself."
That’s the advice legendary bluesman Albert Collins gave to a young Coco Montoya—and Montoya took it to heart.
A self-taught, left-handed guitar virtuoso and soul-deep singer, Montoya cut his teeth drumming for Collins before becoming a celebrated member of John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers. Since stepping out with his debut solo album in 1995 (earning the Blues Music Award for Best New Artist), Montoya has stayed at the forefront of the blues world with his fiery, emotional performances and razor-sharp guitar work.
