Please join us for Thirty Minutes of Musical Magic at the next Noon Concert at Trinity Santa Barbara on Friday, May 30 - a celebration of Fifty Years of Bassoon Music.
Bassoonist William Wood will be joined by Los Angeles musical colleagues Roger Wilkie and Anna Landauer, violin; Alma Lisa Fernandez, viola; Charlie Tyler, cello; and Geoff Osika, double bass for a program celebrating Mr. Wood's fifty years of playing the bassoon. A featured work on the program will be the Concerto for Bassoon & Strings (2002) by composer Craig Phillips. Other works for bassoon and strings on the program will include Muerte del Angel by Astor PIazzolla, Film Noir (2012/2025) by LA based composer Damian Montano; Spring Lullaby (2026) by Canadian bassoonist/composer Mathieu Lussier and Alec Wilder's Air for Bassoon and Strings (1945). $10 suggested tax-deductible donation goodwill offering at the door. Also save the date - Friday, September 5 for a program featuring John Proulx and Maya Proulx. John Proulx (pronounced "Proo") is a Los Angeles-based jazz vocalist, pianist, composer, educator, and recording artist. John has 4 albums to his credit including “Moon and Sand”, “Baker’s Dozen”, “The Best Thing For You” and “Say it”. In addition to touring with his own trio, John has performed with the likes of Anita O'Day, Natalie Cole, Melissa Manchester, Ann Hampton Callaway, and Marian McPartland. Maya Proulx was recently named a 2024 YoungArts winner with distinction in Jazz Voice and was nominated to apply for the US presidential scholarship in the arts, the highest honor of the organization.For further information and donor opportunities please email
