🎥 VAALA + VìTÂM invite you to a special screening of The Empathizer, sponsored by The Frida Cinema.
🎬 Nominated for the Grand Jury Trống Đồng Award for Best Feature at Viet Film Fest 2024, this powerful documentary follows comedian Fred Le as he explores the journeys of overseas-born Vietnamese who have chosen to return to the country their parents once fled. Through intimate interviews, The Empathizer reveals the complexities of identity, belonging, and what it means to truly come home.
✨ Stay for a special Q&A with the filmmakers after the screening. This will be the first screening with Vietnamese subtitles, making it accessible for all generations.
Join us for an afternoon of film, reflection, and community connection.
